Civic Studio
Jurisdictional
Jurisdictional was created to explore the idea of a single citizen interface to all of government; local to federal. Jurisdictional is a registry of government entities in the United States.
Website design
We can design your website. Civic Studio is based in Vacaville and works with small businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies across Solano County, Sacramento County, Napa County, and the San Francisco Bay Area. We meet in person locally and by video call everywhere else.
A good website says clearly what you do, who it is for, and how to get in touch. We start there, with your words and your customers in mind, before choosing any tools.
Every site we build is fast, works on phones, and is written in plain language. Search engine basics are built in from the first page, so people in your area can find you.
Most websites go stale because updating them requires a developer. We set yours up so someone on your team can change hours, add a page, or post news without calling us.
When you would rather not think about it at all, we offer ongoing updates and maintenance from $50 to $200 per month.
Who we design for
Small businesses
Shops, trades, restaurants, practices, and professional services. A site that brings in calls and makes the first visit easy.
Nonprofits and community groups
Programs, events, donations, and volunteer sign-ups, organized so supporters can find what they need.
Cities, counties, and public agencies
Accessible, plain-language pages and online forms that meet public standards and work for every resident.
Most website projects start at $3,000. A typical small business site runs $3,000 to $15,000 depending on how many pages and features it needs. Read what drives that range before we talk, if you like.
Where we work
Our studio is in Vacaville, between the Bay Area and Sacramento. We meet clients in person throughout the region and work by video call with organizations anywhere in the United States.

We talk
A short call or a visit to your place. We learn what you do, who your customers are, and what the site needs to do for you.
We design and build
You see real pages early and often. Most small business sites are live within a few weeks.
You own it
We hand over the site, the accounts, and a short guide to updating it. Stay on with us for maintenance, or not.
